Specialty Mineralising / pH Neutralising Cartridge (Atlas Filtri)
A calcite-based water treatment cartridge designed to raise pH, neutralise acidity, and add calcium minerals back into mains or filtered water.
This 10” BIG cartridge uses natural calcite media to adjust water chemistry, making it less acidic and more balanced for plumbing systems and general household use. It is typically installed inside Atlas Filtri DP 10” BIG housings as part of a whole-house or point-of-entry filtration setup.
Raising low pH (acidic water)
Neutralising acidic water that can corrode pipes and fixtures
Adding calcium back into treated water
Improving “feel” of water after filtration or RO systems
Water passes through a bed of calcite media (calcium carbonate).
As the water flows through:
acidity is neutralised
pH increases toward neutral range
a small amount of calcium is dissolved into the water
water becomes less aggressive to plumbing and metal fittings
This is a passive chemical reaction media, not a mechanical filter.
In the Atlas Filtri BIG range you’ve been looking at, this cartridge is usually:
the final stage after sediment + carbon filtration, or
used in RO post-treatment systems, or
installed as a standalone pH correction stage
It is not meant for:
sediment removal
chlorine reduction
PFAS reduction
Calcite systems behave differently from standard filters:
The media slowly dissolves over time
It must be replaced or refilled periodically
